The Renewable Energies Act (EEG)
The Renewable Energies Act (EEG) promotes the development of energy generated from renewable resources. The proportion of renewable energies in the electricity supply is to be increased to at least 30 percent by 2020. A multistage system distributes both the EEG electricity and the surcharge for the subsidy costs from EEG generators equally among all energy users via the system operators.
