Transparent lobbying

50Hertz publicly shares its interests and positions with political stakeholders, as we consider the energy transition to be a shared task of society as a whole, which can only be achieved successfully through constructive dialogue with all social partners.

In this context, 50Hertz regularly meets with political, administrative and regulatory representatives, at the European, federal and state level as well as at the district and municipal level. The focus lies on such themes as the general organisation of the energy transition, the security of the electricity supply in the context of the simultaneous increase in renewable energy and local grid expansion.

We endeavour to responsibly and sustainably represent our interests. That is why we act according to principles that equally apply to all of our employees. This also means that we provide extensive information, based on the facts and arguments available to us, and lobby in an open and transparent manner. We do so with appreciation and respect for the independence of our discussion partners.

In order to make a specific contribution to transparent lobbying, we publish our positions on our website. Moreover, we have listed ourselves in the EU transparency register. We take a politically neutral position and do not make donations to political parties, politicians or candidates running for a political office. The associations of which 50Hertz is a member, make donations at their own responsibility and do so according to the applicable legal regulations, in particular in compliance with the laws on political parties. Sponsoring by 50Hertz in the political sphere is equally distributed among the various political movements. The financial contribution is always in proportion to the return service.

50Hertz position on the proposals of the European Commission on Clean Energy for all Europeans

09.10.2017

50Hertz welcomes the European Commission's endeavour to further reinforce the EU Internal Energy Market with its Clean Energy for All Europeans legislative package. The majority of the proposed measures offer a good basis. Nevertheless, 50Hertz feels that some of the proposals included in the package are not needed to further develop the EU Internal Energy Market.
