Final consumers according to the EEG
The following data represents the volumes of electricity supplied to final consumers within the 50Hertz control area between 1 January and 31 December 2012.
During this period, the total power supplied to final consumers pursuant to the EEG amounted to 97,729,589,840 kWh.
This amount includes power supplied to so-called hardship customers (§§ 40-43 EEG) under the terms of the special equalisation scheme.

The following table shows the volume supplied to so-called hardship customers by electric utilities in the 50Hertz control area (divided into a "minimum fee" and a "hardship volume") as well as the volume falling to the hardship customers in accordance with section 37(1) sentence 1 of the EEG between 1 January and 31 December 2012.
The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) limited the share of electricity volume for hardship customers in accordance with section 37(1) of the EEG for certain points of delivery pursuant to section 40(1) of the EEG for electricity received and consumed for proper needs. In addition, the BAFA determined the minimum fee to be paid, if necessary, for the power received and consumed for own purposes, to which the limit does not apply.
