The SuedOstLink high-voltage direct current project is currently at the stage of the federal sectoral planning. Project developer 50Hertz is responsible for the part of the planning between Wolmirstedt near Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt and the border between Thuringia and Bavaria. The planning area of 50Hertz is divided into two sections: Section A, from the grid connection point at Wolmirstedt to the Eisenberg area, and Section B, from the Eisenberg area to the Hof area. Below you can download maps for the respective current state of the planning:
SuedOstLink overview map: current planning between Wolmirstedt and the Thuringia-Bavaria state border (as at 04/2019)
This map shows the part of the SuedOstLink planning area for which 50Hertz is responsible. This consists of Section A (from the grid connection point at Wolmirstedt, near Magdeburg, to the coupling point in the Eisenberg area) and Section B (between the coupling points in the Eisenberg and Hof areas).
The status shown in the map below takes into account the planning results submitted to the Federal Network Agency in late April 2019 for Section A and in late November 2018 for Section B, including a proposal for a newly proposed route corridor

Maps for Section A: focus on Saxony-Anhalt (as at 04/2019)
Based on the survey scope for Section A imposed by the Federal Network Agency in October 2017, 50Hertz complemented the existing plans between Wolmirstedt and the Eisenberg area with additional corridor routes and, among other things, developed them further to take into account regional planning and environmental considerations. On this basis, 50Hertz also determined a new route corridor proposal as the most suitable course. 50Hertz submitted these plans to the authority for further inspection in late April 2019.
