In order to ensure a constant and uninterrupted electricity supply, regular maintenance work and inspections of our grid components are necessary. These are grouped under the term ‘outage’. Below you can find an overview of all planned outages.
Below are shown the planned outages and their impact on the transmission capacity from Poland and the Czech Republic as well as from / to eastern Denmark.
Planned non-availabilities of operating facilities due to outage or fault elimination or for other reasons are listed, with an indication of the duration.
Unplanned non-availabilities (e.g. for fault elimination) for the current year are published under unplanned outages as soon as possible with an indication of the duration and the reason.
Replacement of the German land cable of KONTEK
19h May 2020, Validity until 30th June 2023, Bidding zone border: DK2-DE/LU
The KONTEK link (“KONTEK”) is an HVDC cross-border transmission line that was commissioned in June 1996. It runs from Bjæverskov (Eastern Denmark) to Bentwisch (Germany) and connects the asynchronously operated transmission grids of Energinet in Eastern Denmark and 50Hertz.
After roughly 25 years in operation, the German land cable of KONTEK between Hohe Düne and the substation Bentwisch in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has reached the last part of its operating ability and needs to be replaced.
In order to minimise the unavailability of KONTEK due to the replacement of the German land cable, the new land cable will be laid first and only upon completion, the old one will be dismantled.
For the switch from the old land cable to the new one, a temporary outage of KONTEK for a lot of about three weeks will be needed – either in the second half of 2022 or in the first half of 2023.
More information will be published when available.
