380 kV overhead line "Nordring Berlin"

50Hertz is planning a 380 kilovolt EHV overhead line between the Brandenburg substations of Neuenhagen bei Berlin and Wustermark. The overhead line will be constructed on the same route as the current 220 kV overhead line. With this project, 50Hertz factors in the growing segment of renewables in Brandenburg. The grid expansion is necessary to achieve the German and European climate protection objectives.

The 380 kV "Nordring Berlin" increases the security of supply in and around the capital and reinforces the grid connection of the steel mill in Hennigsdorf, Brandenburg. 50Hertz Transmission GmbH is planning to invest a total sum of about 70 million € in the 80-kilometre 380 kV overhead line. Together with the conversion of the switchgear at the substations, the investments total approx. 110 million €.

50Hertz is currently preparing the planning approval procedure. The 380 kV "Nordring" will be realised in two construction phases and be finished in 2016/17. The spatial planning procedure was concluded in August 2011.

380 kV overhead line "Nordring Berlin" The 220 kV overhead line already had to be converted for the expansion of the Schwanebeck three-way interchange.
