An interconnector is a power line connecting the electricity grids of two countries. These international transmission lines connect the transmission systems of all EU-countries, enable international power trade and increase the security of supply. The national transmission systems and the cross-border interconnectors build the European interconnected grid. More Information on how 50Hertz uses interconnectors here.
Information for consumers, distribution system operators and producers who want to be directly connected to our grid. Information on grid access, grid usage, grid use charges and supplier contracts.
Being part of the European grid, 50Hertz is in close collaboration with TSOs and other partners in Europe. Together we manage international congestion.
The 50Hertz transmission system is the basis for a reliable, secure and efficient electricity supply. Should grid stability be endangered or disrupted, we immediately take grid- or market-related measures in the scope of congestion management.
