50Hertz is pursuing a clear climate and industrial policy goal: by 2032, we want to cover 100 percent of the electricity demand in our grid area from renewable energies.
We are doing this on the one hand to support the goal of making Europe a climate-neutral continent by 2050. But we're also doing this because we know that for many companies, the availability of electricity from renewables is a decisive factor in location decisions.
In order to integrate 100 percent renewable energy by 2032, we need an interdisciplinary and future-oriented exchange. It is important to us to conduct this exchange not only with the business community, but also with the scientific community.
To this end, we have established the Scientific Advisory & Project Board (SAPB), in which we discuss challenges and innovative solutions for a greenhouse gas-neutral future with in an interdisciplinary manner and work on them in concrete research and development projects.
The board consists of 21 experts from German and Swiss Universities (see list below). Its first meeting took place on March 18, 2021.
