The construction of new power lines is necessary to ensure a secure electricity supply. Interventions affecting property and agriculture are therefore inevitable. In addition to compliance with permitting procedures, 50Hertz needs to make an agreement with the affected landowners and landusers to use private property. Therefore, an easement is entered in the land register as a so-called "limited personal easement" (under Section 1090 of the German Civil Code).
