Strengthening cooperation between system operators and the public within the scope of grid expansion projects, creating transparency and acceptance: those are the aims 50Hertz and its partners from all over Europe seek to realise by means of the BESTGRID project, which is supported by the European Union. In all, four pilot projects tested new ways to cooperate and spread information in the field. The grid expansion project involving the 380-kV overhead line from Bertikow to Pasewalk led 50Hertz to commit itself to the BESTGRID project. The project goal: to encourage the early exchange between transmission system operators and local authorities, institutions and citizens during grid development projects, to improve local understanding of the project and speed up the approval procedure if possible. You can find more information on the projects on bestgrid.eu or at 380 kV overhead line Pasewalk – Bertikow
