In its grid area, 50Hertz primarily supports projects that promote a diverse cultural landscape, serve to protect nature or meet social demands. In some cases, partnerships are also promoted in other thematic areas, such as sports.
We enter into long-term sponsoring partnerships in order to achieve the greatest possible benefit and sustainable economic effect for society, the region, its citizens and our company.
Regarding donations, we support concerns about promoting young talent, education, sport, social affairs, culture and the environment in our grid area. It is important to us that the projects supported have a positive influence on the local living environment.To maintain our independence, we do not support individuals or political parties. Our commitment for sponsoring and donations can only take place within our grid area which includes the German federal states of Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, as well as the city states of Berlin and Hamburg.
In cooperation with the Nationalgalerie, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, 50Hertz supports graduates of art schools in our network area. With the exhibition series Rundgang 50Hertz, young positions of contemporary art are promoted and presented to the public. Since 2017, there has been an annual exhibition of selected graduation works created at the art colleges in Berlin, Leipzig and Hamburg. These can be seen digitally at rundgang50hertz and live for a few days at Hamburger Bahnhof.
As an innovation partner, 50Hertz supports digitization projects of the concert hall in particular.
In the framework of the Mecklenburg-West Pomerania Festival each spring and summer numerous events take place in the German federal state of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. 50Hertz is repeatedly sponsoring a number of concerts during the current festival season
„Energie gemeinsam wenden“ (Changing energy together) is the title of an interactive exhibit developed by 50Hertz and the Independent Institute for Environmental Issues (Unabhängiges Institut für Umweltfragen e.V.) and used at schools in Mecklenburg- West Pomerania for spring 2013. Thus, students of the fifth and sixth grade playfully learn about the energy transition.
Since 2011, 50Hertz has supported the annual Rennsteig Autumn Run in the Thuringian Forest. More than 500 runners conquer the 20.5 kilometre long course through the Thuringian Forest.
50Hertz supports the young biathletes of the sports club Schorfheide in the south of the Brandenburg Uckermark. In a hilly area, the youngest "biathinos" learn Nordic winter sports with the support of 50Hertz so that one day they can run at the top.
