50Hertz is responsible for operation, maintenance, planning, and extension of the 380/220-kilovolt transmission grid in northern and eastern Germany. Our grid
covers an area of 109,360 km² and runs a length of approximately 10,000 km which equals the distance from Berlin to Rio de Janeiro.
At the project conferences in Elsteraue, Apolda and Erfurt, 50Hertz explained its application for federal sector planning with the help of a computer simulation. To this end, short films were made which depict the possible alternative corridors in the landscape. The films are based on a three-dimensional terrain model with the existing line and the 1000 metre wide corridors.
The films show the course of the proposed corridor (in dark blue) as well as the alternatives (bright blue) per approval section. The current route is coloured orange in the films. Other existing overhead lines that run parallel to the current line in certain places are shown in green.
This and other movies are available on Youtube-Kanal von 50Hertz.
