50Hertz uses the SAP Business Network, an electronic supplier portal that is optimally aligned with the SAP S4 HANA platform. Since the tenders are processed via Ariba Sourcing, in the future they will only need one company account with SAP to carry out the entire procurement process with us.

With the supplier portal, 50Hertz introduced a software solution based on the SAP Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLC) and SAP Supplier Self Services (SUS) modules. In combination with the Bidding Engine module, all aspects of supplier management are represented and handled via the supplier portal.

Maintenance of master data and employee profiles in the SAP Business Network

All processes are handled via the the SAP Business Network: registration, actualisation of master data, handling of tendering processes, orders, payments and assessment of the collaboration with 50Hertz (at both ends). The 50Hertz supplier portal is optimised for use in Windows Internet Explorer. You can download an overview of the browsers supported by the supplier portal in this side's download section (check top of page for the link). When using the portal in a browser that is not listed in the overview, misrepresentations of portal views, e.g. missing templates and functions, are possible.

Participation in a tender in E-Sourcing

Ariba Sourcing is used by 50Hertz to organize sourcing events such as requests for information (RFI) or requests for proposal (RFP). The E-Sourcing tool gives vendors an opportunity to bid and compete fairly for 50Hertz business.

If you are facing any issue to participate to a Sourcing Event, check out this document with the 5 most recurring problems:

  1. You are connected to another user of the same SAP Business Network account.
  2. The invitation was sent to another user of the same SAP Business Network account.
  3. You first need to update the Registration form from Elia Group before being able to access any other documents.
  4. When you try to create a new SAP Business Network account, you receive the message that there is already one  account existing.
  5. The buyer can´t find the new user that was created on your SAP Business Network account.
