“With these assets, our grid becomes a highly dynamic grid in which the power flow is actively controlled,” said Golletz, who also fulfils the role of Chief Technical Officer at 50Hertz. Of central importance to 50Hertz in all this is that system security is guaranteed at all times, even under these altered conditions. Golletz also advocated that, in addition to the necessary technical innovations, the rules on the energy market should also be continuously further developed. It is important to provide the right incentives for all market participants so that trade not only functions commercially, but also considers the overall economy.
50Hertz’s System Security Conference is a sector gathering that takes place every two years and during which experts discuss the interaction between the different players of the electrical system in Germany as well as Europe. Almost 150 participants from the energy sector, the scientific world, politics and administration came to 50Hertz’s corporate headquarters in Berlin to attend this year’s edition. Experts discussed current topics pertaining to system, company and IT security.
