Federal sectoral planning started for 380-kV Bertikow-Pasewalk overhead line projects
On 24 September 2014, 50Hertz explained its application for federal sectoral planning at the first national submission conference. Over 60 participants from various administrations, cities and municipalities, environmental associations and other interested parties indicated which aspects still need to be considered during the further course of spatial corridor planning.
As the authority competent to grant approval, the Federal Network Agency invited the participants to attend the project conference at the Torgelow city hall (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania). Most positions and questions dealt with bird and environmental protection. The corridor planning for two locations was also discussed: the Kirchenforst forest in Pasewalk and the town of Dreesch in Gramzow, Brandenburg.
For Dreesch, the proposal made by 50Hertz, namely a re-routing to the east, is similar to the suggestions put forth by the residents and the municipal administration. For the Kirchenforst forest, further deforestation for the sake of the conversion works should be minimised and the local fauna and flora should be protected.
"We have had highly constructive and professionally useful discussions on many individual topics during this conference", said Dr Yvonne Saßnick, Head of the Authorisations Department at 50Hertz, who led the 50Hertz team at the conference. Project leader Teréz Jánossy: "The exchange on which technical and environmental research is required at which point of the planning was important to all parties."
The Federal Network Agency will now assess the information gleaned from the project conference and then decree further research for a comprehensive licensing application for federal sectoral planning.
